A Day In The Life

Woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head. Found my way downstairs and drank a cup, looking up, I noticed I was late……bedum bedum….

It was fifty years ago since Jesus* sang this. Amazing.

Well when Coleshed came-to this morning and supped a nice mug of builders tea, the main thoughts coursing through the brain cells were not centred around being late – no no, being late not really on the agenda.

Today is Tuesday. And today, dear reader, the focus was on having a cracking day out! (*BTW, it may not have been Jesus, but someone possibly more famous!)

First stop for lunch was The Stag and Huntsman public house in Hambleden. This has been a favourite haunt for decades and did not disappoint today. Lunch was a necessarily swift affair – as Coleshed had a young pooch in tow – but a cheese and pickle toastie with a cheeky IPA slid down very nicely.

Then on to Mill End, Hambleden Mill, Hambleden Lock and Temple Island.

God shined his light on us (despite the wee joke about the Beatles being more famous than Jesus) and it was a fabulously sunny afternoon. (Here Comes the Sun … duden duden.. :) :) them again!)

Thoroughly recommend this as a relaxing afternoon out with just as much eating / drinking / walking as you might fancy.

Version 2

Get outside and enjoy yourself!
