Going With The Flow

Extreme weather warning!

Well there it is.

It is officially too hot to do anything busy or productive. It is so hot in fact that we have had to postpone a man who was coming to sort a bit of flat-roof, here at Coleshed HQ, for fear that he might get stuck in the molten bitumen….

So if we cant work, and we can barely breathe here in our little sun trap, what can we do? El doggio is listless and panting; and looks at us imploringly.

The answer is: We go swimming.

….and here is the evidence…..

The water was properly cold when Team Coleshed tiptoed cautiously into the shallows (take care to avoid cold-water shock folks), but inevitably, once you’re in, its hard to get out again. Absolutely glorious.

When we arrived at the car park, half a mile downstream, it was quite busy even at 10am; but we walked far enough for it to be very quiet. It was idyllic.

We were organised enough to take the team GoPro this time, specifically to take photos in the water. Though to be honest I didn’t get many good ones as I wasn’t really concentrating on the photos!

On the surface the water looks inky black and gives fabulous reflections. ,When the sunshine is at the right angle it lights up the rocks below.

From underwater, you can make out the shafts of sunlight in the clear, clear water (you can also just make out the back of El Doggio swimming – in the middle!)

I wish I’d taken more! Maybe more underwater photography on Coleshed in the future?! Something to ponder ;)

A Bientot

p.s. it really makes you spare a thought for everyone in NW USA and Canada who have had that heat bubble recently. Daytime temperatures in the high 40’s centigrade must have been really gruelling.

  1. Next time we meet you should discuss GoPro with Aleksei .
Gosh aren’t we lucky to have the rivers. I have yet to explore the Plym but want to do the bike trail .
Yes, glad you agree. Too hot for anything productive . Phew. Hi

  2. Good to see you’re using the local facilities without too much intrusion from grockles. (Sp?)

Are you around for a call in the next couple of days? Suggest a suitable day/time, and I will try not to forget it.

    Dave
